I am a racist, but I've told y'all that. There are two races I hold as highly suspect; Yankees, and people from California. When you combine the two you get an abomination. I don't think it's the weather. The north is cold and California is known for being warm, so it's not that. I think it boils down to certain groups buying into any cock-eyed scheme that comes along. Like sorting trash. Take that for instance. Back in the day, in Shreveport, my dad would take the trash out and set it on the curb. Everything from chicken bones to beer cans, it all went out. By and by someone thought it would be a cute idea to sort out the trash, and even came up with pretty little plastic boxes to display everything for the "special" truck that came along and picked it up. Then they invented the land fill. It seems burning trash endangered the environment so it was seized upon that burying it for a hundred years or so was THE answer. The Mafia rejoiced! Now they had someplace to put all those body parts.
California was the world's worse about this, what with thirty million people or so trying to occupy the same beach towel, and so the environmental laws abounded out there. The paradox is that California doesn't have state vehicle inspections, but they sweat blood over exhaust coming from old pickups. I know they have smog, sit down and shut up. (Borrowed that line from Kathie Glass.) Anyway, I digress. Work with me here, I'm heading in a decided direction.
I was intrigued by a Facebook comment coming from Michael Moore today concerning Michael Brown. He expounded on the item Mr Brown lifted from a Quickie Mart, quickly making the point that the theft of cigars should not warrant being shot. First, let do the demographics. Uh, white guy shoots black kid. There's a formula here. The mainstream media goes into high gear finding just the "right" high school picture and portrays the event as innocent boy walking down the street singing, "What a Friend We Have In Jesus," when a white guy rolls up and pops a round into him. Hey, if you fell for this don't feel bad. I, myself once did an article defending Trayvon Martin. Anyway, then folks like Sharpton and Jackson leap on their private planes and pump everything up, after the love offering, of course, and they all get together and burn the town down. (Wouldn't THAT endanger the environment, too? Better to disassemble the town and put it out on the curb in little plastic boxes. My bad, too much work.)
Now Jack in the Sharp hasn't shown up...YET, but the day isn't over. Just let me adjust my hood, and get a chaw of tabaccy, cause I know that's what a lot of you think I look like anyway, and let you in on some legal facts and social fantasies. Mr Brown did take the cigars. Now, I will agree that action in, and of itself doesn't warrant the death sentence, but it bemoans a culture that approves of the "right" of a person or persons to deprive the lawful owner of items, or property they lawfully possess. This sterling, honor roll valedictorian to be didn't have the money to purchase said cigars, had the audacity to steal them and THEN pushed the little clerk back when confronted. Bear in mind the only thing Michael Moore ever assaulted was a ham sandwich Swat them bees, swat them bees, and these are Africanized bees, so swat hard!
I don't know how things work up there in Ferguson, but in Austin that'll get you five to ten and you'll be using those cigars for MONEY! Now, stay with me here. One of the initial reports claimed the officer who came upon Brown and company was shoved back into his car in a scramble for his weapon. I watched the store security clip. I see Biggie Small and one or two little wimpy guys following him that couldn't shove a cheer leader off a Diet Coke. So just WHO do you suppose did the shoving of that officer, hmmmmmmm?
You see, that's just like the trash thing. Down here in Texas we have a thing called common sense. Now it's getting diluted as we are inundated with undocumented immigrants from California and New York, but by and large we're still mostly Texans. We teach our kids things as they grow. Things like don't talk to strangers, look both ways when you cross the street, and you don't shove ARMED POLICE OFFICERS! You see, those are the things that might get you killed. The last one is called, "Death by Cop."
What if the clerk in the store had pulled a gun, having just been attacked by a MAN twice his size, and defended himself. I can see C J Grisham and Terry Holcomb Sr wiping a tear from their eyes right now. Remember the line from "The Shootist?" "I don't lay hands on anyone, and I require the same!" the Hip Hop culture has laid the foundation for a new morality. A world where girls are "Hos" shooting from a car is acceptable, and shoving store clerks is the agreed method of paying for a pack of cigars. See that connection? Cock-eyed ideas; Sorting trash, Hip Hop. Only problem is that there are a few folks out there who never HEARD of Tupac, and will shoot you for even looking at their daughter wrong. And don't forget, these people are the same ones who holed up in a crumbling adobe church and told an army of five-thousand to take a number.
These are just facts, people. Civilized people don't DO things like that. If Michael Brown had been walking down the street, and responded with, "Is there a problem, officer," he would be starting college on Monday, and I wish he had. There was good in him, but he had been indoctrinated by a culture of cock-eyed ideas so instead of another George Washington Carver we got a Tupac. So sad.
