Have you ever wondered how things ever got so crazy? There are certain rules of human behavior that apply. Rule number one is people will do anything they think they can get away with. It starts out blatant. People will do something totally illegal, or crazy, and if no one challenges them it passes. After it passes long enough, it becomes the norm. Obama pens an executive order and the liberals dance in the street with their free cell phones, the rest of us too busy trying to keep our heads above water to worry about it, so ObamaPhones become the norm. Tad bit harder giving guns to the Mexicans, so then we come up with something called “justification.” Justification is where you explain your crazy actions by tying them to some noble cause. “We’re trying to trap the drug cartels so we gave ‘em free guns to see if they’ll use them.” Two points of contention here; one, they will most certainly USE the guns, and two, the cartels are rich enough to buy their own guns! Oh, by the way, doesn’t Mexico have excellent gun control. . . jus’ sayin’.
After you have many such events the logic becomes the order of business. Issue comes up, Obama just sits down in front of the TV cameras, goes around Congress, and puts out yet another law, “Ex Cathedra” and the masses cheer like so many lemmings as the constitution takes yet another hit. Obama has become such a task master at this and he will sign as many as twenty such orders in one sitting. He has become so arrogant that he will actually TELL Congress he is going to do it. It has become the norm!
Words are tools. They can mean whatever the reader wishes them to mean at any given time. Words also form what we call oxymorons. Take the Department of Homeland Security. Simple enough, don’t you think? They make sure the homeland is secure. Au Contraire! If they are so concerned about our security then why aren’t they down on the border SECURING it? They are very concerned with some little old lady bringing a bottle of wine back from California at a TSA check point, but the border looks like the battle of the Alamo and all they’re doing is directing traffic. Stupid is as stupid does!
Gun control. Now there’s one. Uh, let’s see, we got nuts running around the country shooting people up, so what to do. I know! We’ll take guns away from the population so they can’t shoot BACK! Now if that’s not a Californication I’m not a white boy from Austin! And, as an added feature, let’s take the second amendment, which is very plain and simple, and trot it through the Supreme Court until we get the definition we want. The amendment is plain. The militia is the CIVILIAN defense called up to DEFEND borders and such. CIVILIANS are allowed to have and carry GUNS to protect THEMSELVES and the COUNTRY.There was even militia at the Alamo. Travis had a very small command of regulars, but a lot of those guys were there because the WANTED to be. They WEREN’T in the army! Volunteers. Americans have the right to bear arms. I should be on the Supreme Court, I really should.
All of this simple stacks up and the public becomes tired. Just TRY to quote the Constitution to a cop who is coming into your home without a warrant. Just try! Just try to quote the second amendment to a cop when he finds you have a pistol in your pocket. Just try to tell a CPS worker they can’t just take your kid out the door because they WANT to. Just try. And they will always cite some “decision” or “motion” that substantiates their actions. “This has already been decided by Whomever vs Whatever.” You know what stops that? A simple statement: “I will shoot you if you touch my kid!” And you have to MEAN it.
The men standing toe to toe at Lexington, Concord, and the Alamo MEANT it. They were called “Americans.” They really believed that people had the right to enjoy Life,Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. That just about covers it all, doesn’t it? The state can’t kill you without just cause, the state can’t jail you without just cause, and the state can’t come into your bedroom and arrest you without just cause! People think these days that we’ve become too sophisticated to rise up. Too much big government, too much internet, too much law. There is nothing new under the sun. The Roman Empire. . . where is it now? The British Empire. . . where is it now? General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna. . . where is he NOW? There is always a logic out there that will tell you the machine is too big to thwart. The machine lives and thrives from the people. The people give the machine power simply by submission. As long as the machine is cruising down a freeway it rolls along just fine. Country roads are another matter.
The United States is coming to a fork in that road. Revolutions are always fought by a very small percentage of the population. If the revolutions is successful the rest of the population follows suit. One of the founding fathers once said we have to have a revolution about once every twenty years, and he was right. Over that period the lawyers will have things screwed up enough to where the people have to erase the blackboard and start again. Our blackboard hasn’t been erased since Abraham Lincoln. Texas will be a great eraser. When this is all over, and IF the country survives, we need to put a monument in Washington. Obama, sitting in an elegant chair, looking down with deep concern on his face, and the inscription at the base, “Stupid is As Stupid Does!”
